Halloween Part 1: Annual Cornerstone Party
This year, Eli elected to be an Aviator for Halloween (he had two choices: Aviator or Lion and he chose Aviator). We scored the awesome leather jacket on Ebay and the aviator hat with flaps and googles came from Amazon.com. The red scarf I had on hand. It came together very nicely and he looked fantastic...plus, he loved it! As a bonus, all parts of his costume are completely reusable (not so sure about the goggles).
Our first chance to show off Eli's aviator costume was at the annual Cornerstone Halloween party. Since joining the Cornerstone Montessori "family" we've tried to attend as many events hosted by the Parent Guild as we can. The events are tons of fun, Eli gets to hang with his best buddies and we get to support a fantastic school/organization.
Eli and Logan complemented each other...an Aviator and an Airplane.
Clark was a knight in shining armour.
Was it the sun or Clark's costume that was too bright, Eli?

Halloween Part 2: Boo at the Zoo
Grandma Cook gifted us with a Denver Zoo membership as an early Christmas gift so we decided to activate the membership and participate in the annual "Boo at the Zoo" event. (It was quite packed...the three of us, Grandpa David and the rest of Denver's stroller families.) Despite the crowds, it was a beautiful day and we had an wonderful time! Thank you, Grandma Cook!
Eli was pretending the stroller was a garbage truck, he stood on the back just as the trash men stand of the back of the trash truck. He would let us know when to stop so he could pick up trash, literally, he did actually pick up trash left behind by others and put it in the bottom of the stroller, or his trash truck as he called it!
The Hippo performed for Eli and Grandpa David by entering the water, swimming around a bit, snuffing and snorting, wiggling his ears then exiting the water. Eli was thrilled and appreciated the show!
Halloween Part 3: Trick-or-Treating on Halloween Night
On Halloween night, we were joined by good friends Clark and Teddy (with parents in tow) for trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. All three kids totally got into the spirit and nearly ran from house-to-house at the onset. The "dark and spooky" atmosphere (it was a really dark night) and the Halloween decorations (ghosts, goblins, graveyards) at each house added to the thrill of the night. It was blast for all of us...kids and adults!
Eli kept wanting to wear the pumpkin bucket on this head!
(Before candy, that is!)

The first house...the kids were fascinated by the decorations! Then got even more excited when they realized they got candy handed to them at the door!
Trick-or-Treat! The kids picked up on the routine pretty quickly!
Eli was super excited. After visiting each house, he wanted to show us his loot!
Eli and our favorite neighbors, Becky and Dick (and Briar and Buddy). Becky and Dick have the very "cool" Halloween House with full-sized candy bars!
