Hurricaine Irene

I was very much looking forward to our vacation to Vermont so when I learned that Hurricane Irene was potentially going to interrupt or delay our travel plans, I was incredibly upset. Thankfully, the storm passed through Vermont and New Hampshire (we flew into Manchester, NH) the day before we arrived. Unfortunately, the storm resulted in massive flooding in Vermont which left many roads and bridges washed out and in-passable. We were lucky to not have to contend with many detours but regardless the damage was terrible. Below are only a few photos of a road/bridge that was washed out between Barton (where my mom lives) and Island Pond (where my Grandmother lives).
