Weekend with Grandpa David

While on one on his trips to the U.S., Grandpa David came for a visit to Colorado to see his favorite grandson, Eli. Over the extended Columbus Day weekend (4 days, whoo hoo), we packed in a visit to the Denver Zoo, swimming at the Golden Rec Center (on a cold and snowy day, no less) and an outing to the Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Festival at Chatfield Reservoir. Eli and Grandpa David bonded quickly and thoroughly enjoyed each other's company.

Hey look Grandpa David and Mom, I'm as tall as an Emperor Penguin!

Polar bears have huge paws as compared to Eli's little paws

Eli, you have lots of growing to do before you fit into Grandpa David's shoes!

Taking a ride on Skittles the pony

We searched all over to find the perfect pumpkins to take home! Eli even sat on a few to see if they were just right!

We could not believe just how many red Radio Flyer wagons there were at the festival! Just about everyone had one!

Eli's first face painting

Barrel train ride (anyone under 3 had to be accompanied by an adult, hence why I had to try to squeeze my big self into one of those little barrels!)
Eli and Grandpa David having a ball on the spinning cup ride!
Funny story here...Raymond and I were watching from the side lines as Eli and Grandpa David braved this ride. Typical worried mom that I am, I was totally flipping out thinking Eli was scared and crying while in fact he was laughing and asking Grandpa David to spin faster!

Look guys, this pumpkin is bigger than me!

Future pilot, just like Grandpa David

Eli totally would not get off this scooter! He rode the track round and round until Raymond finally pulled him off kicking and screaming! Welcome to the terrible twos!
